Two years ago, my husband bought me a coffee maker. Not a romantic thought to MOST people, but if you are like me and infamous for being absolutely determined to have at least ONE cup (a large one) of coffee before interacting with ANYTHING/ONE you will understand what a wonderfully fabulous gift this was.
Well, it is too tall to have on my kitchen counter and I have had to move it around looking for "its place" because it really needs a place of its own in order to enable it to provide me with that wonderful nectar of the Gods! That nectar that keeps me from becoming a crazy loonie woman that wants to kill or curl back up in in a ball under the blankets and whine.....
I was back at my fave store - Second Chance Inc. - and found this very nice little table, which was probably a nightstand. It's details interested me and it needed some repairs; which translated too - it was discounted!
There were no distinguishing markings identifying the manufacturer or the age, and the joints were all needing to be re-glued. Large nicks and nail polish on the outside as well as someone leaving cheap stick eyeliner marks in the drawers. It took a little work; glue, sanding, putty and primer! Hey, this is why I do this.... right?
The nice surprise was the drawer pulls - once I Tarnex'd them - they looked better than anything I could have picked up at the hardware store - so I kept them on. The family does not like the fleur du Lis pattern - but they don't drink coffee so they don't count!
And after 2 weeks of labor - one quart and 8 oz of paint from the Depot! I created THIS!
My French revival corner coffee station! Tah Dah!
Oh, and I also like teapots.... But that is a whole different story.
